Introduction to the Understandable Blog!
Hey all!
Jordan here, and I want to welcome you to the Understandable Blog. This is my home away from home (college) for any non-collegiate ideas, research, reviews, and in-depth analyses I do on my own.
I want to look at specific literature passages from different books (hopefully using this as a jumping-off point for myself), various pieces of music, breaking down sound design, instruments chosen, and, of course, lyrics.
I also want to use this as a place to make short analytical retrospectives on different video games (I am a huge gamer). I already have one in mind, using Telltale's The Walking Dead game compared to NaughtyDog's The Last of Us (I & II).
I don't expect greatness to come from this. I want this to be an exploratory place for anyone to come and review some of my writing outside of scholarly analysis (that stuff can get boring).
Whatever I do, I want to ensure that I provide any information I grab. If I am referencing a video, it will look something like this:
"(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmTXI0CBkyo) -> Joel and Ellie Last Conversation The Last of Us Part 2"
I'll do this for any links to videos, articles, or other extraneous media. Even though it's not scholarly (meaning I won't directly use in-text citations), I will still give credit where it's due...I'm not that terrible of a person.
Excited to start this journey! I'm going to try to release one to two analyses a week. One shorter, one longer. I'll probably publish the longer one on Friday or the weekend and the smaller one closer to mid-week (I want time to polish them nicely).
